Arrive at Goma International Airport; transfer to Nyiragongo base camp.
Welcome by your Akagera & Apes guide at Goma airport. Transfer to the base of Mount Nyiragongo — one of the world's most active volcanoes and home to the largest lava lake on Earth. Equipment check, ranger briefing, and an early dinner before tomorrow's ascent. Overnight base camp lodge.
